Dhoom Gompa

Located at a distance of 8kms from the hill station, Dhoom Gompa is immensely popular for the splendid statue of the Maitrayaei Buddha. The pristine Monastry has till date preserved very carefully the rare Buddhiat manuscripts.

Batasia Loop

3km from Ghoom and 5km from the city,the railway track, laid in 1879,has taken a sharp Uturn in an astonishing manner. The name of this is Batasia Loop- this unique railway route attracts people. In the centre is a martyr's monument and a beautiful garden. From the Loop the first glimpse of Darjeeling city and charming view of Kanchenjunga is fascinating.

The Mal

The Mall is the commercial street and the lifeline of the hill sation. It appears like a beautiful picture gallery where one gets to see Tibetans selling varieties of knitwear and souvenir shops stuffed with Himalayan artefacts. The road from the Mall leads to Chaurasta which is a square, known for being a perfect place for the tiny tots and the love birds.


Chowrasta which means crossroad is a spacious area .
